IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 19, 2020 NEW POLL HAS JUDGE PAT O’BRIEN SURGING AND WITHIN SINGLE DIGITS OF EMBATTLED INCUMBENT KIM FOXX Chicago, IL – Cook County Republican Party Chairman Sean M. Morrison commissioned the polling firm Ogden & Fry to conduct a county-wide poll this past weekend on the race for Cook County State’s Attorney featuring Democrat incumbent Kim Foxx versus GOP challenger Judge Pat O’Brien. Ogden & Fry’s previous poll from September 5 had Kim Foxx at 48.1%, Pat O’Brien at 33.8%, and 18.1% Undecided. The latest Ogden & Fry poll has Judge O’Brien surging in the final weeks of the campaign and now within single digits of Kim Foxx. What is extremely troubling for Foxx is that she remains under 50%, falling slightly from last month’s poll as Undecided Voters are breaking sharply for O’Brien. 47.1% — Kim Foxx 40.6% — Pat O’Brien 9.8% — Undecided Ogden & Fry conducted a three-question poll on Sunday, October 18 county-wide with 736 Likely Voters. The margin of error for the poll is +/- 3.69% at the 95% confidence interval. “What these new poll numbers illustrate is that more and more voters have become familiar with Judge O’Brien’s candidacy and his outstanding legal resume. Law-abiding residents from across Cook County have had enough of the rioting, looting, violent crime, murdered children and general lawlessness that has raged on across the city of Chicago and Cook County under the disastrous policies of Kim Foxx,” stated Chairman Sean Morrison. This is the first time since Jack O’Malley in 1992 that a GOP candidate for Cook County State’s Attorney is in strong position to win the elected office. Chairman Morrison added, “This race has nothing to do with partisan politics. It’s all about public safety. That’s the overwhelming feedback we’re receiving from across the county. People are absolutely fed up with Kim Foxx and her ‘Get Out of Jail Free’ attitude towards criminals.” ### |
