About Chairman Aaron Del Mar
Aaron’s political journey is one of passion, leadership, and dedication. It all began in 2009 when, at the age of 29, he made history as the youngest-ever Councilman for the Village of Palatine. Over the next four years, his commitment to serving his community set the stage for what would be a remarkable political career.
In 2010, Aaron’s influence expanded as he became the Committeeman for the Palatine Township Republican Organization, a role he still holds today. His leadership caught the attention of the broader political landscape, and in 2012, he was elected Chairman of the Cook County Republican Party. That same year, the Illinois Republican Party appointed him to the prestigious Electoral College representing Illinois.
Never one to shy away from a challenge, Aaron continued to rise through the ranks. In 2014, he was re-elected both Palatine Township Committeeman and Chairman of the Cook County Republican Party. His commitment to national politics was recognized in 2015 when he was selected as a delegate to the Republican National Committee Convention. Aaron’s influence only grew in 2016, when he was appointed Trustee for the Inverness Fire Protection District and Palatine Township Highway Commissioner. On top of that, former Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner tapped him to serve on the International Port Authority Board.
Aaron’s leadership skills were further showcased in 2017 when he was elected President of the Inverness Fire Protection District, a role that highlighted his ability to guide and protect his community. In 2022, he took a bold step forward in his political career, running for Lieutenant Governor of Illinois alongside gubernatorial candidate Gary Rabine.
Throughout his journey, Aaron has proven time and time again that he’s not just a public servant but a visionary, always looking for ways to improve and uplift those around him.
Aaron has a strong desire to positively impact his community and the greater region through politics and governance. He works tirelessly to identify the expectations, needs and aspirations of the people he currently represents, to diligently meet those expectations. He has also developed a community outreach program that includes both elected and stakeholders at-large to assess and address needs, and additionally assists individuals looking to serve in elected positions for both local and state offices through consulting.
