Cook County Republican Party Chairman Aaron Del Mar announced the appointment of a new Committeeman in Lyons Township to fill the vacancy. Jim Falvey has been appointed to serve out the remainder of the current term as Lyons Township Republican Committeeman.
“Committeeman Falvey will do an excellent job building the Republican organization in Lyons Township and strengthening Republican efforts in this important township,” said Chairman Del Mar. “I made this appointment after he was unanimously recommended by our review committee, who interviewed several supremely qualified individuals for the position. It is our hope that all of these individuals will work with Committeeman Falvey to accomplish the important tasks ahead as we prepare for an election where we will have the chance to elect a Republican Governor to lead Illinois back to prosperity.”
Jim Falvey is an attorney and entrepreneur from Western Springs. He has held leadership positions at RJ O’Brien & Associates, the US Futures Exchange, Intercontinental Exchange, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and Allstate Insurance Company. He currently serves as General Counsel for Green Key Markets, Managing Director at Falvey Consulting, and and Adjunct Professor at Penn State University. Jim earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in government and international studies from the University of Notre Dame, his Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
Vetting for potential appointees was conducted by a committee headed by Palos Township Republican Committeeman Sean Morrison. The committee also included Worth Township Republican Committeeman Shaun Murphy, Stickney Township Republican Committeeman Mike Olik, 19th Ward Republican Committeeman James Parilli, Proviso Township Republican Committeeman Michael Corrigan, Berwyn Township Republican Committeeman Anthony Castrogiovanni, business owner and Lyons Township Republican Organization member Steve Palmer, Lyons Township Republican Organization member Christine Cook, and State Representative James Durkin.
