THE COOK COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY’S STATEMENT OF OPPOSITION TO ANTI-SEMITISM

WHEREAS, the Jewish people have given such great gifts to humanity in science, morals, medicine and many other fields; and

WHEREAS, the Jewish people have contributed so much to America, fulfilling the American Dream of success and happiness after legal immigration to our shores; and

WHEREAS, Jewish Americans have bravely shed their blood and given their lives in defense of America from its enemies; and

WHEREAS, Jewish Americans have played a prominent role in supporting the civil rights of all Americans and given aid to other minorities in their own struggles for freedom from oppression; and

WHEREAS, Jewish Republicans have been a strong and growing part of the advancement and growth of the Republican Party in Illinois and across our great nation; and

WHEREAS, the Central Committee of the Cook County Republican Party is committed to the ideal of the American Revolution that all persons are created free and equal; and

WHEREAS, the Central Committee of the Cook County Republican Party has with concern viewed the expansion of Anti-Semitic rhetoric in certain segments of American political life; and

WHEREAS, it is the duty of the Central Committee to speak for the Republican Party in Cook County in openly opposing unlawful discrimination in American life; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Central Committee of the Cook County Republican Party stands united in opposing Anti-Semitism in any form.
