CHICAGO – Cook County Republican Party Chairman Sean Morrison has released a statement today in response to the second attempted assassination in 64 days against President Donald Trump.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to President Trump and his family after yesterday’s assassination attempt in Florida. We thank the Secret Service, local law enforcement, and the good Samaritan for their swift actions which resulted in the arrest of the alleged assailant with no harm coming to President Trump or any other innocent persons in the immediate vicinity.
What we’ve witnessed in the last 24 hours is a continuation of abhorrent violent behavior from the radicalized Left. The fact that not one but two assassination attempts against President Trump in barely two months is an indictment of the vitriolic political language used by the Left to incite this type of violent and deadly behavior. What makes matters worse is a sort of acceptance and normalizing of this detestable behavior from those same people. It is time to stamp out this radicalized violent behavior from our country’s politics. May God continue to protect President Trump and those around him from the radicalized evil that is permeating our country’s political discourse.”
