Today, Sean M. Morrison, Chairman, Cook County Republican Party announced the appointment of Symeon Brown as the new 18th Ward Republican Committeeman.
“It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of Symeon Brown to the post of Republican Committeeman for the 18th Ward. Symeon’s background and intimate understanding of the 18th Ward will help him succeed in this position, and I look forward to seeing the great work he will do,” said Morrison.
Symeon has been involved in Republican politics for many years now. Beginning with his work on Bruce Rauner’s campaign for Governor in 2014, Symeon then ran for the position of 18th Ward Republican Committeeman. While he narrowly lost this race, he continued to stay involved, going on to work for Senator Mark Kirk’s re-election in 2016 as well as several mayoral campaigns in 2017. With his strong understanding of grassroots organization and Republican politics in the City of Chicago, Symeon is highly qualified to take on this position.
“I am thankful to Chairman Morrison for the opportunity to serve the citizens and voters of the 18th Ward. I look forward to energizing the Republican base and am fully committed to growing the Republican Party throughout the Ward,” said Brown.
The appointment takes effect immediately.
