Only 18 months ago, Illinois Republicans had a record number of candidates running for office up and down the ballot in Cook County. We’ve been hard at work the last several months recruiting and preparing to slate candidates up and down the ballot again. That clearly upset JB Pritzker, Don Harmon and Chris Welch, because only six months before the General Election they decided to force through legislation that stops us from doing this.
This is nothing more than a brazen attempt by Illinois Democrats to disenfranchise voters and eliminate political competition, and to hide behind the guise of “ethics reform” is laughable.
