“It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of Dr. Eric Wallace to the post of Republican Committeeman for Rich Township. Eric is the Co-Founder and President of Freedom’s Journal Institute for the Study of Faith and Public Policy, and has previously served on the African American Advisory Board for the RNC, as Chairman of the African American Republican Council of Illinois, member of the Outreach Advisory Board for the Illinois GOP, Co-Chairman of the Cook County Republican Party, and as commissioner on the Illinois Transatlantic Slave Trade Commission. More recently, Eric was a candidate for U.S. Representative in the 2nd Congressional district special election in 2013 and 2014 election cycle.
Eric and his wife, Jennifer, reside in the Village of Flossmoor. They have two adult sons, Eric and Greg. Eric and Jennifer also serve their communities as proud members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, respectively.
With his work at Freedom’s Journal Institute, his experience as a minister, and intimate involvement in the community, Eric is extremely qualified for this position.
“For decades Illinois has been entangled in Chicago style politics with its corrupt politicians employing ‘pay to play’ tactics to advance their political careers. Their mismanagement of state government has caused Illinoisans to suffer under the highest property taxes in the country, failing schools, ballooning budgets, crippling business growth, and opportunity prompting many to leave the state. I say that it’s time to R.I.S.E. out of our suffering for a New Beginning!,” said Wallace.
The appointment takes effect immediately.
