PALATINE, IL – Cook County Republican Party Chairman Aaron Del Mar today announced the appointment of Kevin Suggs as Bremen Township Republican Committeeman, Israel Smith as Rich Township Republican Committeeman, and Sean Morrison as Cook County Republican Party Deputy Chairman.
“We are sad to see Pat Rea and Pat Barr retire from their posts but we are grateful for their years of effective and faithful service. And now are excited to see what this new generation of leadership can accomplish for Republicans in Rich & Bremen Townships and throughout Cook County,” said Del Mar. “We must increase our vote totals in southern Cook County if we’re going to win countywide and statewide elections. These individuals have the skills, passion, and drive to build on the work of those before them in order to accomplish this mission. Doing so would allow Republicans to be successful and finally stop the Democrats from spending our state into bankruptcy.”
Kevin Suggs has lived in Bremen Township for over 15 years. He is the Technical Sales Representative for Archway Sales with territories in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Michigan. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Med from the University of Notre Dame. He also received his Bachelor of Arts in Music Ministry and Masters of Fine Arts in Theology from International College of Excellence. Kevin previously served as the Bremen Township Republican Organization Vice President and President. He has also been involved with the Suburban Cook County Young Republicans, serving as their Event Coordinator, and on various campaigns at the local, county, state, and national levels.
Israel Smith has been a Rich Township resident since 1991. He is currently head of Residential Appeals at the Cook County Board of Review under Commissioner Dan Patlak. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Robert Morris University with a BBA in Management. He has been very active politically, holding the positions of Vice President and Deputy Committeeman for the Rich Township Republican Organization. He previously served as Chair of the Suburban Cook County Young Republicans and has worked on a number of area campaigns, including Mark Kirk for Senate, Bill Brady for Governor, and Isaac Hayes for Congress.
“Suggs and Smith were the most qualified for the positions, by far. What makes these appointments even more exciting is that they display the diversity that exists within our Party (Smith is 33 years old; Suggs, 44, is an African-American),” explained DelMar, a 34-year-old Philippine-American. “When I became Chairman I pledged to grow our Party and I am proud to see that our efforts are showing results. The future is bright for Republicans in Cook County.”
Sean Morrison currently serves as the Palos Township Republican Committeeman. He is CEO and founder of Morrison Security Corporation, Morrison Security Group, and Morrison Investigations, Inc. He attended Moraine Valley College where he majored in business and accounting. Sean has served as a board member on several security organizations, and has received numerous awards and commendations for outstanding service and expertise in the security industry. He is a member of the American Society of Industrial Security, Illinois Security Chiefs Association, and the Associated Detectives of Illinois. Recently, Morrison Security was recognized as a Fortune 500 “fastest growing firms in 2008” and Sean was recognized as one of Illinois’ top twenty-five businessmen.
